For the first time in 89 years, a polar air wave has brought snow to Buenos Aires.

For someone like me, that never experienced snowy weather, it was a novelty.
I didn’t wake up really early in the morning, and have no windows looking out the street, so by the time I found out of the weather conditions, it was already noon.
Collective Joy
It was interesting to see the day evolve in to this historic event -as Clarin.com calls it- to see people out on the street despite the cold sub-zero temperatures.
In almost every public channel on TV the news were the snow fall, and how the citizens celebrated this extraordinary phenomena.

Interviews to porteños and tourists at the Obelisco were everywhere.
It’s too bad I didn’t get to take pictures of this memorable day. Although I have a pretty good cell phone camera, it didn’t capture the snowflakes.
Oh, by the way… Happy Independence Day!
